Getting Quality Time with an Online Degree
You might think online degrees aren't as good as the real thing, but you couldn't be more wrong. Making time to go back to school seems impossible. But when you think about an online degree, you hesitate. Would it be a lower quality education? Would employers take it seriously? Would you miss one-on-one interaction with your instructor and peers? The answer is no.

Electrify your Future: Become an Electrical Engineer

One of the world's most important commodities is power. Electricity runs it all, from your prized television set to the starter on your car. Let's face it: without electrical engineers, we would all be much worse off.

Electrical engineering is a demanding, but rewarding and stimulating field. Getting an electrical engineering degree online could electrify a potentially dull future.

Energizing the World

Benjamin Franklin might be considered the first electrical engineer due to his famous experiment in electricity. Remember? He was the one who flew his kite in an electrical storm with a key attached to the kite string. He soon discovered the lightening rod, the first invention to control electricity. Since then, electrical engineers have created a whole world of electrical technology; our entire lives run on electricity. Can you imagine what it would be like without electricity?

Electrical engineers usually fall into two categories:
  • Professional electrical engineers will need at least a bachelor's degree and perhaps even a master's degree. These engineers design and monitor products, services, and information systems. Your work could be in electronics, electrical systems, or even computer engineering. This job is very demanding and you'll have to meet deadlines and solve daunting problems using the skills you learned in your online electrical engineering degree program.
  • Vocational electrical engineers require much less training. Often, an associate's degree or similar training would be sufficient, giving you the title of technician or technologist. As a vocational electrical engineer, you might maintain building electrical or computer systems for companies.

Jumpstarting an Electrical Engineering Career

Becoming an electrical engineer takes a lot of hard work and persistence. Electrical engineering degrees online usually require a lot of advanced math and science classes. Getting an associate's degree online in electrical engineering is a great career move and can get you started in a vocational electrical engineering career for a company or in an apprenticeship for a union. An online bachelor's or master's degree will prepare you for even more challenging electrical engineering projects and maybe even a higher salary to match.
